How do I create my tribute giving page?
Click the red box that says "create a tribute page" above. The process is very fast and simple, just follow their steps and fill in the details about the person who you are remembering.
How will my donation and giving page help?
We are so grateful for your energy and for the effort that you put into raising funds for Sarcoma UK. Your hard work makes a real difference in the lives of so many people.
All the funds raised for Sarcoma UK go towards our charitable objectives: raising sarcoma awareness, providing vial support and information and funding ground-breaking research. Here are some examples of how your support will make an impact on our work for the sarcoma community.
- A donation of £5 could cover the cost of our Support Line text service for one day to allow more people to access our specialist team.
- £20 could fund a researcher's lab coat, which is a crucial piece of clothing in the laboratory to ensure that samples don’t get contaminated.
- Raising £150 could fund the Support Line for a week
- Raising £500 could cover the annual grant for one local sarcoma support group.
- Raising £2,000 is enough to fund a whole genome sequencing of one sample from a sarcoma tumour, helping us to understand in greater detail why the cancer cells behave the way they do, and how we might target this with new treatments.
I’ve created my giving page, now what should I do?
Thank you again for setting up your giving page and for thinking of our charity in this way.
JustGiving offers a number of ways you can personalise your page to make it stand out. You can add a pictures to highlight who you are honouring, share your loved one’s story and their experience with sarcoma to help raise awareness of this uncommon cancer.
Once your giving page is ready to go, we recommend sharing it with your friends and family and letting them know how they can help. You can share your JustGiving URL on your social media pages, by text message, and download a QR code to add to your order of memorial service booklet.
How can I find out more about Sarcoma UK?
Our team are here to help you! If you have any questions about your giving page or would like to find out more about our work, please contact our fundraising team at fundraising@sarcoma.org.uk or call our office on 0207 856 0445.
Do I have to handle any money transfers?
No. These services take care of the financial and admin work. JustGiving collect donations, add Gift Aid and the transfer totals to us directly when they are made. These services make it very easy for people to donate money or sponsor you.
Don’t JustGiving charge a fee? Isn’t it better if I send you money directly?
There is no fee for fundraisers and donors. There is a small fee for us though.
These services make it very easy for many people to raise funds for us. They manage the financial transactions (collecting donations, claiming Gift Aid, transferring amounts back to us) and for this they charge a small administrative fee. We believe that we get very good value for this small fee as otherwise we would have to spend a lot more time on tools and administration to properly collect funds raised.
I have received a cheque donation, what should I do?
Please send any cheque donations made out to 'Sarcoma UK' to our office address at: Sarcoma UK, 17/18 Angel Gate, City Road, London, EC1V 2PT. Do include a note or reference so we know that the money came from you and should go towards your tribute page.
